Instructional Design
Achieve Greater Success Through Innovative Learning
Training or upskilling your employees can be a difficult task, regardless of your industry. Complex processes, exacting requirements and regulations can quickly prove overwhelming to untrained or underprepared staff. Even the best and most experienced employees can struggle to achieve their full potential without the proper education and training.
Our Approach to Instructional Design
Training or upskilling your employees can be a difficult task, regardless of your industry. Complex processes, exacting requirements and regulations can quickly prove overwhelming to untrained or underprepared staff. Even the best and most experienced employees can struggle to achieve their full potential without the proper education and training.
At Allen Interactions, we’re here to help you overcome the challenges associated with employee education and training. Our instructional design experts can help you create new learning experience or turn boring, ineffective training courses into a dynamic learning ecosystem.

Context
The first step in developing impactful e-learning is to identify why the skills being taught are relevant to the learner. Context is critical to establishing applicability of what is to be learned.
Challenge
The second step in effective instructional design is to create a challenge that motivates the learner and further communicates what learners will be able to do upon course completion. Establishing authentic risks and the potential for real-world success gives learners a stimulus to act, which is critical to ensuring full learner engagement.
Activity
Once the context and challenge are established, the learner considers what actions would be appropriate and effective. Provisions for learner actions should be broad and as unrestrictive as possible. They should not provide prompts that wouldn’t appear in performance contexts.
Feedback
Finally, it is important for learners to see the consequences of their actions wherever they can be simulated. It’s at this point that instruction and/or explanations can be offered to help failing learners do better on subsequent iterations until performance reaches success criteria.
The awesomely effective CCAF design model can be applied to any instructional design project, regardless of industry or end goal.
